Robert Guo, MBA

CEO

Robert founded Sixty Degree Capital in 2017 and currently serves as the President. He leads the firm’s investment strategy and specializes in identifying high-growth opportunities across healthcare and technology sectors. 

Prior to Sixty Degree, he was CEO of Goldenmount Capital International and held senior roles at BMO Nesbitt Burns and TD. He has served as Board Director for several public companies, including China Wind Power and Environmental Waste International. 

Robert holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He brings over two decades of experience in venture capital, private equity, and capital markets. 

Cheryl Kuai, PhD, CFA

Managing Director

Cheryl Kuai is a healthcare investor specializing in biotechnology and healthcare technology. Her investment focus includes companies addressing significant unmet medical needs, advancing best-in-class therapeutic profiles, and developing innovative technologies that meaningfully improve clinical outcomes.

Since joining Sixty Degree Capital in February 2021, Cheryl has led the firm’s investments in several emerging leaders, including GlycoEra, Nested Therapeutics, AAVantgarde, Crossbow, Seawolf, Knownwell, and others.

Cheryl holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and is a CFA charterholder, a combination that reflects her scientific depth and financial expertise. During her doctoral studies, she focused on gene expression, transcriptional control, and genetic engineering. She leverages this interdisciplinary background to identify breakthrough opportunities and support the next generation of healthcare innovators.

Cheryl was promoted to Managing Director in October 2024.

Vincent Ho, CPA

Director, Fund Operations

Vince joined Sixty Degree Capital in December 2023. He has 15+ years of experience administering hedge funds and private equity funds. 

Prior to joining, he was a Vice President at State Street Canada where he managed teams servicing hedge fund managers who managed funds with total net asset values above 1B+.  His responsibilities included solving complex instrument accounting with issues for his clients and providing clients with their reporting needs such as monthly NAV packages, board of director reports, allocation returns, and any ad hoc items requested. He led his team to be one of the first in Toronto to provide digital asset fund administration services. 

Vince has a BBA from the University of Toronto and is a member in good standing with the CGA, CPA profession.  

Robin Gao, MMI

Principal

Robin joined Sixty Degree Capital in November 2019 as a Principal. He specializes in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities across the biotechnology, healthcare technology, and medical device sectors. 

 Prior to joining SDC, Robin held business development and fundraising roles at Toronto-based healthcare startups AmacaThera and Focal Healthcare. Previously, he worked in ApoPharma’s pre-clinical research division and conducted research on HIV vaccines and MRI contrast agents at the University of Toronto. 

Robin holds a Master of Management of Innovation (MMI) and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biological Chemistry from the University of Toronto. Robin is a CFA® charterholder.

Lillian Yu

Analyst, Fund Operations

Lillian joined Sixty Degree Capital in October 2025. She works closely with the Fund Director to streamline processes, optimize reporting, and ensure operational efficiency. 

Prior to joining, Lillian built her experience in operations and project management in both research and healthcare settings, most recently serving as Operations Management Coordinator at the Robarts Research Institute. 

Lillian holds a Master of Management of Applied Science (MMASc) and a Bachelor of Science from Western University.  

Nate Xia, PhD, CFA

Principal

Nate is a Principal at Sixty Degree Capital who joined the team as an Investment Analyst in February 2022. He focuses on investments in biotechnology, healthcare technology, and life sciences. 

Prior to joining, Nate completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Chemistry at the University of British Columbia researching genetic mutations and molecular mechanisms in cardiomyopathy. He received his PhD in Chemistry from Tsinghua University, working at the interdisciplinary of chemistry, synthesis, and biomedical research. Nate is a CFA charterholder. 

Brett Liu, MEng, CFA

Principal

Brett joined Sixty Degree Capital in May 2021 as a Principal. He has over a decade of investment experience in the technology innovation and investment space. 

Prior to joining, Brett co-founded and exited a Climatetech startup that developed sustainable lithium battery recycling solutions. He also spent 7 years in investment and advisory roles in the energy and technology sectors, completing acquisitions and private equity transactions exceeding $1 billion in total value. Earlier in his career, Brett held technical consulting roles at Hatch Ltd., leading major technology and capital development projects. 

Brett holds a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from McMaster University. He also holds several patents in renewable energy and industrial AI applications 

Sintia Teichman, PhD

Principal

Sintia is a Principal at Sixty Degree Capital who joined the team as an Investment Analyst in May 2021. She focuses on investments across the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, and healthcare technology sectors. 

Prior to joining SDC, Sintia conducted research in immunology, stem cell biology, and regenerative medicine at the University of Toronto. Her research explored autoimmune diseases such as colitis and type 1 diabetes. 

 

Sintia holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Immunology from the University of Toronto and a B.M.Sc. from the University of Western Ontario. 

Kenneth Grisé, PhD

Principal

Ken is a Principal at Sixty Degree Capital who joined the team as an Investment Analyst in May 2021. He acts as a science and market expert to help develop Sixty Degree Capital’s biotechnology and healthcare investment portfolio.

Prior to joining, Ken worked in drug discovery and regenerative medicine with Endogena Therapeutics and developed diabetes cell therapy programs with Sernova. He also conducted research with the Neurobiology Research Group at the Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research in Toronto, focusing on stem cell-based approaches for degenerative diseases of the retina and brain.

Ken holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto, an M.Sc. in Kinesiology, and a B.Sc. in Physiology and Psychology from the University of Western Ontario.

Jenny Lo, MBA

Associate

Jenny joined Sixty Degree Capital in September 2023 as an Associate, supporting investment in digital infrastructure and transformative software innovation. 

Prior to joining SDC, she worked at Cathay Venture where she led sourcing, diligence and supported portfolio companies and FoF positions across enterprise SaaS, FinTech and MarTech verticals. She has also worked at 104 Corp (CVC for a major HRM company in Asia), Vanguard (fintech strategy), Micron, and Rubasse (a hardware startup). 

Jenny holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto where she was involved with the Creative Destruction Lab via helping early-stage ventures. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. 

Jojo Ye, MBA

Associate

Jiaojiao Ye is an Associate at Sixty Degree Capital who joined the team as an Analyst in August 2022. She focuses on investments in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence infrastructure. 

Before joining SDC, Jojo spent over 13 years at China Telecom Corporation Limited, where she worked as a technical program manager and later as a product manager leading large-scale cloud computing initiatives. She managed cloud product portfolios, oversaw multi-datacenter infrastructure development, and collaborated with enterprise partners including Microsoft, IBM, HP, and VMware. 

Jojo holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University and a Master’s degree in Communication and Information Systems from Shanghai University.  

Mohan Zhang

Principal

Mohan is a Principal at Sixty Degree Capital who joined the team as an Associate in April 2024. He focuses on investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure, developer tools, and applied AI technologies. 

Before joining, Mohan worked as an Applied Research Scientist at Thomson Reuters Labs. He also worked at Quartic.ai on offline reinforcement learning in collaboration with the University of Toronto and previously conducted research at the Guanghua-Rotman Centre in Information and Capital Market. Mohan is an active open-source contributor and developer, and has published as first author in conferences such as NeurIPS and the European Chapter of ACL. 

Mohan holds a Master of Science in Applied Computing and an Honors Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Toronto. 

Sarah Blicker

Associate

Sarah joined Sixty Degree Capital as an Associate, where she focuses on technology and AI investments across various verticals as well as emerging sectors. In addition to her investment responsibilities, she leads key initiatives in firm operations to help shape Sixty Degree’s presence. 

Prior to joining SDC, Sarah worked at Nasdaq (NDAQ) in a Capital Markets Intelligence role advising executive teams of public companies on shareholder engagement and market dynamics. She also has experience in management consulting, where she supported clients on strategic and operational challenges across various industries. 

Sarah holds a BSc from the London School of Economics.
